When I saw these, I thought of a quote I keep in my email signature that a friend of mine challenged me to remember on a day when I was facing a few of my fears. It was good advice then, and it's good advice today. I always strive to remember John Muir's words:
"The sun shines not on us, but in us." 
They're second only to my all-time favorite Gandhi quote:
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
