Least tern chicks (Sternula antillarum) were everywhere today. It's a little hard to see, but this one found a nice place to hide under mama's wing...
Even when mama ran away and the chick had to chase her!
Isn't the little one sweet?
Of course, the rest of the terns were in the air, trying to defend the colony, which made my visit there very brief. Maybe I'll have better luck getting a photo next time...
